After you are admitted, you will be brought to a ward or intensive care unit. This page describes what you can expect from your stay in the wards, where your core healthcare team will provide you with the best quality care.
Upon arrival in a ward, a nurse will help to settle you in and a doctor will work with you to complete your medical history. You will also receive an information leaflet that contains information about your care in your specific ward. You should feel comfortable asking your doctor or nurse about your condition. During your stay, your core healthcare team may consist of:
On admission, you will be asked about your dietary needs. Once, you are in the ward, you will be offered a daily menu however some patients may be on a special diet. For health safety and hygiene reasons, please do not bring food into the Hospital.
Breakfast : 7:30 am to 8.00 am
Lunch : 12.30 pm to 2.00 pm
Evening tea : 4.00 pm to 4.30 pm
Dinner : 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm

In line with current legislation, smoking is prohibited in Chirayu Hospital, Smoking is a punishable offence.
If someone urgently needs to call you, he or she should call the telephone operator. He or she has to advise your room extension to the telephone operator. Please note, we need to have our hospital telephone free for any emergency call, one should ignore to call on hospital land-line.

Mobile phonesMobile phones are permitted in designated areas only. The use of cellular phones and walkie-talkies can cause life support and diagnostic equipment to malfunction. Signs throughout the Hospital indicate where cellular phones may and may not be used. Taking photographs with camera / picture phones is prohibited in the Hospital. Please respect patient privacy. The Hospital does not accept responsibility for lost or stolen mobile phones.
Please do not bring electrical equipment into the Hospital without the approval of the maintenance staff.
Your personal health record contains personal information. You have a right to access and review that information but sometimes your request cannot be granted. You will be notified in that case. For more information in this case, you can contact Medical Director.
While you are in the Hospital, medical, nursing, para medical and administrative staff may have access to the data in your personal health record. Hospital policy requires all Chirayu Hospital, staff members to respect the confidentiality of your data. If you have any concerns, please contact the Director.

To provide the best medical and nursing care to all patients, it may be necessary to transfer patients from one part of the ward to another or perhaps to other wards. Every effort will be made to keep movement to a minimum. We would be grateful for your full co-operation should you be requested to move. Please remember that other patients may be asked to move to facilitate your care.
